Funeral Director Apprentice

Pay and benefits that respect you. A salary of $50,000 to $55,000 and quarterly bonus potential.

What your days look like

You will be a Funeral Director’s right hand. You will help prepare for each service, setting up rooms, coordinating details and making sure everything is in place before a family walks in. You will greet families and guests with warmth, answer calls with care, and handle the administrative work that keeps every file accurate and confidential.

Some days you will be front and centre at a service; others you will be behind the scenes keeping things running smoothly. Everything you do here builds the hands on experience your apprenticeship requires.

There is no on call rotation. Services sometimes run into evenings and weekends, so some flexibility is needed.

Is this you?

- You are enrolled in the BC Embalmer and Funeral Director program. Students in the Foundation year are welcome.

- No funeral home experience is needed. You bring at least one year of administrative experience and a genuine interest in this profession.

- You are warm,



calm and organized, and you manage your time well without being reminded.

- You communicate clearly and kindly, in person, on the phone and in writing in English. Speaking Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Korean or French is a real asset.

- You are comfortable in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.

- You take direction well, support your teammates, and bring a positive attitude to a serious job.

- You present yourself professionally, in conservative, neutral attire, and can manage the physical demands of the role, including lifting and moving caskets with a teammate.

- A BC Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean record is an asset.
