Overview

We are a busy family practice optometry clinic in View Royal, B.C., seeking someone to fill the role of receptionist and pre-tester (performing diagnostic imaging and tests prior to patients seeing the optometrist). There is some flexibility in schedule, 3-5 days a week being offered, including Saturdays every other month.

We aim above all to be a safe place where everyone is welcome and treated as the person they are. We are an inclusive clinic that prides ourselves on providing high quality care, and maintaining a fun work atmosphere. Our team includes our office dog Leia, who works full time and specializes in brightening the day of staff and patients alike.

Experience in optometry is a plus but not required- we are more than happy to train the right person!

Duties

- Answering phones and emails, scheduling appointments for patients, recalling patients for annual examinations, making reminder calls for upcoming appointments.




- Sending and receiving faxes
- Managing the doctor's schedule
- Performing pre testing on patients, such as auto refraction, visual fields, fundus imaging, and OCTs.
- Creating invoices, taking payments, and running insurance for patients.

Skills

- Customer service and people skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Digital literacy- knowledge of the software program VisualEyes a plus but not necessary.
- Ability to problem solve and use critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn current skills.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 23.0 – 40.0 per week
