Senior Transmission Estimator | Lead a Major Utility Infrastructure Program | Long-Term Contract Opportunity
Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Estimator (High Voltage Substations/Transmission) in the Utilities Sector in Edmonton, Alberta. Our client is seeking a Senior Transmission Estimator to support a large-scale transmission infrastructure program. This role is ideal for an experienced estimator who brings both technical estimating expertise and the ability to help build, improve, and lead estimating processes. Working closely with engineering, construction, and project stakeholders, you will support critical transmission and substation projects while contributing to long-term program success.
Total rewards:$95.00 hourlyLong term contract with potential for extension. Prospect to work on large-scale, high-value infrastructure projects. Hybrid work model (2-3 days per week in office). A typical day:
Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cost estimates for transmission and substation projectsReview engineering drawings, specifications,



and scopes to support estimate developmentPerform detailed quantity take-offs for labour, equipment, and materialsApply standardized estimating practices, unit rates, and historical cost dataIdentify risks, assumptions, cost drivers, and develop contingencies and escalationCollaborate with engineering and construction teams on constructability and execution strategiesReview contractor bids, tenders, and change orders for accuracy and completenessMaintain estimating documentation including cost models and Basis of Estimate reportsSuccessful candidates will have:
5-7 years (intermediate) or 8+ years (senior) estimating experience in utilities or infrastructureStrong knowledge of transmission lines, substations, and construction methodsProven ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentationExperience with estimating tools, cost models, and advanced spreadsheetsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDiploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldThis posting is for an active opening.
