Program Manager - Injection Mold Tooling

Location: Oldcastle, ON (Windsor-Essex)

Salary: $100,000-$115,000 annually, with flexibility based on experience

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Work Location: On-site

About the Opportunity

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Program Manager for an established plastic injection mold tooling manufacturer in the Windsor-Essex region.

This is a hands-on, technical Program Management role with responsibility for coordinating customer tooling programs from initial kickoff through design, manufacturing, and final approval. You'll work closely with engineering, machining, production, and customer teams to keep programs on track, address technical challenges, and meet delivery commitments.

Who This Role Is For

This prospect is well suited to someone with a strong technical understanding of injection mold tooling who enjoys coordinating projects, solving problems, and working directly with customers.

We're interested in experienced Tooling Program Managers, as well as Mold Designers and Tooling Engineers who have developed strong project coordination skills and are interested in moving into Program Management.

Direct Program Manager experience is an asset, but the technical background and ability to manage projects effectively are equally important.

This is a technical, customer-facing role requiring a practical understanding of mold design and manufacturing, rather than a purely administrative project management position.

What You'll Be Doing

- Take ownership of assigned customer tooling programs from kickoff through engineering, manufacturing, and final approval, proactively managing schedules, technical issues, customer expectations, and delivery commitments.

- Develop and maintain program schedules, milestones, and delivery commitments.

- Coordinate activities across Design, Engineering, CNC Machining, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality.

- Serve as a primary customer contact, providing updates on program progress, timing, technical issues, and changes.

- Identify potential delays, manufacturing challenges, and resource constraints, working with internal teams to resolve them.

- Monitor program budgets and costs, identify potential financial or scheduling concerns, and escalate issues to management as appropriate.

- Coordinate the review and costing of engineering changes, scope adjustments,

and additional customer requirements.

- Review customer purchase orders, quotations, and program documentation.

- Lead internal program reviews and maintain accurate project records.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen program execution, communication, and delivery performance.

Tools & Technology

- Work within a technical manufacturing environment supported by ERP and program-tracking systems.

- Collaborate with mold design and engineering teams using industry CAD software, including VISI and Cimatron.

- Experience with manufacturing ERP systems, project scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office is valuable.

- Previous experience with the company's specific software is not required; the ability to learn new systems and use them effectively is more important.

What We're Looking For

- Approximately 5 or more years of relevant experience in plastic injection mold tooling, mold design, tooling engineering, or related manufacturing.

- Previous Program Manager experience in plastic injection mold tooling is an asset, but not essential for candidates with strong technical tooling knowledge and demonstrated project coordination skills.

- Strong practical knowledge of injection mold design and manufacturing processes.

- Experience coordinating technical projects, schedules, customer requirements, or manufacturing activities.

- Ability to understand technical issues and work effectively with engineering, design, and shop-floor personnel.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

- Clear, professional communication skills and confidence interacting with customers.

- Good problem-solving abilities, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to resolving issues.

- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and computerized business or project management systems.

- Valid driver's licence and passport.

Nice to Have

- Direct experience managing injection mold or automotive tooling programs.

- Experience with program budgets, cost tracking,

estimating, or engineering change costing.

- Background in mold design, machining, tooling engineering, or manufacturing operations.

- Familiarity with ERP systems and project scheduling software.

- Technical diploma or degree in mechanical engineering technology, manufacturing, mold design, or a related field.

- Project management training or certification.

- Experience coordinating programs involving international customers or suppliers.

What's in It for You

- Base salary of $100,000-$115,000, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates.

- Annual bonus opportunity.

- Employee benefits program.

- RRSP program, subject to eligibility.

- Vacation arrangements based on experience and company policy.

- Permanent, full time employment with an established tooling manufacturer.

- Opportunity to take ownership of customer programs and continue developing professionally.

Work Environment

- This is a full-time, on-site position in Oldcastle, Ontario, involving regular interaction with engineering, design, manufacturing, and customer teams.

- Occasional customer visits and travel may be required.

If you have a solid injection mold tooling background and enjoy combining technical problem-solving, project coordination, and customer relationships, we'd welcome the opportunity to connect.

Thank you for your interest in this opportunity. We appreciate the time you take to apply and will contact qualified applicants whose experience most closely aligns with the requirements of the position.

All applications and inquiries will be handled with appropriate confidentiality.
