About the Client:

We're seeking a compassionate overnight caregiver for a client in Niagara Falls living with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy), a neurological condition that has significantly impacted his mobility and independence. He requires full assistance with all activities of daily living, including transfers, toileting, bathing, and feeding. He needs to be repositioned regularly throughout the night and requires bathroom assistance every couple of hours. The client's wife has been his primary caregiver with support from three daytime PSWs, but overnight care has become essential to ensure his safety and comfort while allowing the family to rest.

Responsibilities:

- Provide attentive overnight care and supervision from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Assist with toileting every 2-3 hours throughout the night, including protected transfers
- Perform repositioning and turning to prevent pressure sores and ensure comfort
- Monitor client's condition and respond promptly to any needs or concerns
- Assist with personal care tasks as needed, including incontinence care
- Maintain a safe sleep environment and ensure client safety at all times
- Complete accurate shift documentation and communicate any changes to the family
- Work collaboratively with the existing daytime PSW team to ensure continuity of care

What We're Looking For:

- Valid PSW certification with current registration
- Experience caring for clients with neurological conditions, particularly those with mobility limitations




- Strong skills in safe transfer techniques and use of mobility aids
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts while remaining alert and responsive
- Physical capability to assist with frequent transfers and repositioning throughout the night
- Patience, compassion, and understanding of the challenges faced by families in caregiving situations
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing consistent care
- Comfortable working in a home environment with family members present

Schedule:

Seven nights per week, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. This is an ongoing position with the understanding that the family's care needs may evolve over time.
