About HakkaWay

HakkaWay is a restaurant specializing in Authentic Hakka cuisine. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and passionate Line Cook to join our kitchen team.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, an understanding of kitchen operations, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook authentic Hakka and Indo-Chinese dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards.
- Perform wok cooking and maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
- Assist with daily food preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, preparing sauces, and portioning ingredients.
- Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and food preparation procedures.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner during busy service periods.
- Maintain proper food storage, rotation, labeling, and inventory practices.
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate shortages to the kitchen team.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, cooking stations, and equipment.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation,



and hygiene standards.
- Assist with kitchen opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties.
- Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and other kitchen team members.
- Support the kitchen team with additional duties as required.

Qualifications

- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a professional kitchen is preferred.
- Experience with Hakka, Chinese, or Indo-Chinese cuisine is an asset.
- Knowledge of wok cooking and food preparation techniques is an asset.
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn and maintain consistent food quality.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
