El-Roi African & Continental Restaurant & Bar is hiring an experienced Nigerian Cook / African Cook with robust knowledge of authentic Nigerian and West African cuisine.
We are looking for a skilled cook who can prepare delicious, traditional African meals while maintaining excellent food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare authentic Nigerian soups, including Egusi, Oha, Ogbono, Bitter Leaf, Afang, Edikang Ikong, and Okra.
- Cook Nigerian Jollof Rice, Fried Rice, Ofada Rice, stews, and traditional swallows.
- Prepare African grilled meats, pepper soup, and other Nigerian specialties.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and follow food safety standards.
- Ensure consistent taste, quality, and portion control.
- Assist with kitchen inventory and daily food preparation.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Nigerian Cook, African Cook, or African Cuisine Chef.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian and West African cooking techniques.
- Experience preparing traditional Nigerian soups and rice dishes.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a restaurant kitchen.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset.
