What you will lead:
Client Learning and Support Plans

- Translate client strengths, interests and goals into achievable individual and group learning objectives, teaching strategies and ways to assess progress within the DevelopmentAbility™ science of practice.
- Design and coordinate accessible learning in pre-employment readiness, workplace essential skills, communication, daily living, independence and community participation.
- Equip staff to adapt instruction, practise skills in real settings and document progress while respecting each client’s choices and pace of learning.
Staff Training and Development
- Build and administer an annual staff learning and development program, including learning needs assessments, orientation, required training, coaching and leadership development.
- Design and deliver workshops and practical learning resources; coordinate external trainers and support staff who teach and coach others.
- Maintain training records and evaluate whether learning translates into stronger practice, consistent support and better client outcomes.
Partner and Community Learning
- Identify learning and accommodation needs with employers, partners, stakeholders and community organizations, and develop relevant workshops, resources and shared learning opportunities.
- Build relationships that strengthen inclusive workplaces, disability awareness, accessible learning and pathways into employment and community participation.
Director of Learning
Program Leadership and Accountability
- Establish JU’s learning priorities, delivery plans and measures of success in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Administer learning projects and budgets, identify funding opportunities, contribute to proposals and manage assigned agreements, records and funder reporting.
- Work with government and community partners to connect eligible learners and programs with appropriate training, employment and disability supports.
- Use learner feedback, staff observations and outcome data to improve programs and report results to the Executive Director.
What You Bring

- An unbeatable and indefatigable Rock Star mentality.
- A foundational and core belief in the power and efficacy of lifelong learning.
- At least five years of experience in developing, leading and administering training and development programs, or five years of directly relevant experience supported by related education and training.
- A post-secondary credential in adult education, education, human services, disability studies, organizational development or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience will be considered.
- Proven success assessing learning needs and designing, delivering and evaluating individual and group learning programs.
- Practical knowledge of adult learning, accessible instructional design, person-centred planning and approaches that support learners with diverse abilities.
- Experience translating individual support or development plans into explicit learning goals, practical instruction and measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, coach colleagues, facilitate groups and build cooperation across teams and organizations.
- Experience with program budgets, funding applications, agreements, documentation and outcome reporting.
- Strong writing, presentation, organizational and digital skills, including the ability to develop learning resources and maintain useful training records.
