Overview:

**Are you an EA looking for extra hours on the weekends? **

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Child Caregivers to join our team in caring for children with special needs one on one in their own homes. As a caregiver for children with various physical and cognitive disabilities, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for children in our care. Your role will involve providing personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, engaging with children, providing age and ability-appropriate activities, and ensuring their well-being.

Available Shifts : Sundays 9:00am -3:00pm.

Duties:
- Assist children with daily care and routines, such as mealtime, naptime, and toileting

-Engage in development level appropriate activities
- Maintain a clean and organized childcare space

-May be required to drive children to activities using your own vehicle
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care

Skills:
- Experience with children: Previous experience working or volunteering with children
- Caregiving: Ability to provide nurturing care to children with special needs, meeting their physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Early childhood education:



Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate activities. Knowledge of "Triple P Parenting" principles is an asset.
- Educate: Ability to engage children in educational activities that promote their cognitive, physical, and social development.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Background check clearance including Vulnerable Sector Check
- Excellent communication skills
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children

-preference given to candidates with experience caring for children with special needs, candidates with in school EA experience, and to candidates with relevant educational courses/certificates.
