Hi Operations is the North American representative of Masbake, a manufacturer of industrial bakery equipment. We provide equipment, installation, commissioning, technical support, and custom engineering solutions for bakeries across Canada, the United States, and Latin America.

As we continue to grow our presence in Canada, we are looking for a skilled and reliable technician to support machine installations, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance activities at customer facilities.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Part-Time Field Service Technician / Controls Technician with experience in industrial machinery and automation systems.

This role is ideal for an independent technician, maintenance professional, or automation specialist looking for flexible work opportunities while supporting industrial bakery equipment installations and service calls.

The successful candidate will provide technical support for equipment such as:

- Dough rounders
- Dough dividers
- Proofers
- Fryers
- Conveyors
- Depositors
- Sheeters
- Mixers
- Packaging equipment
- Other industrial bakery production machinery

Responsibilities

- Install and commission industrial bakery equipment at customer facilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues
- Support machine startups and customer training
- Assist with PLC troubleshooting and controls diagnostics
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Communicate directly with customers during service visits




- Provide technical reports following installations and service calls
- Support existing customers as required

Qualifications

Required

Technician, Technologist, or Engineering background in:

- Industrial Automation
- Mechatronics
- Electrical Engineering
- Electromechanical Technology
- Industrial Maintenance
- Related field
- Experience working with industrial machinery
- Understanding of PLC architecture and industrial control systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel within Canada

Preferred

- Experience with Siemens PLCs and TIA Portal
- Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell systems
- Experience with VFDs, servo systems, sensors, and industrial networking
- Food processing or bakery equipment experience
- Experience performing machine commissioning and startups

Employment Type

Part-Time / Contract

This position is project-based and service-call-based. As Hi Operations continues to expand its Canadian operations, the workload is expected to grow along with our customer base.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with industrial automation, controls, and bakery processing equipment while helping build a growing technical support network across North America.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
