Community Reintegration Workers (CRW) / Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Transitional Living Centres (TLC) is a community-based residential rehabilitation program facility for individuals with acquired brain injuries. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment during the rehabilitation process as residents move towards a return to independent living.

Successful applicants will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in providing a safe and supportive setting for individuals with acquired brain injuries in a residential setting. The selected candidate must display the ability to understand and support the client’s rehabilitation goals and to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients. This includes helping our clients perform a variety of ADL (Activities of Daily Living) (i.e. meal preparation, grooming, dispensing medication and attending medical appointments) as well as assisting with in-home therapies as recommended and directed by medical professionals. Staff will also be responsible for maintaining the personal hygiene of clients by assisting them with bathing, dressing,



grooming as well as toilet assistance and incontinence care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Grade 12 (or equivalent) and a desire to work with people with disabilities;

- Current First Aid / CPR certificate is mandatory;

- Current (within 3 months) or willingness to obtain a Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check);

- Fluency and the ability to communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal) are essential.

DESIRED ASSETS:

- Work well on your own as well as part of a team.

- Must demonstrate strong social skills.

- Robust decision-making and critical thinking skills. Interest and willingness to learn new skills.

- Educational background or previous work experience in the Human Services/Healthcare field.

- Ability to speak other languages.

- Valid Driver’s License. (Use of a reliable vehicle for work purposes is an asset).

Job Types: Full time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
