Lead advanced structural simulation for General Fusion’s LM26, using transient nonlinear analysis to support secure, reliable machine operations and upgrades.
As a Structural Mechanical Engineer and Stress Analyst, you will analyze large assemblies under extreme dynamic loading. Your work will guide design decisions, improve system performance, and support commercialization of General Fusion’s Magnetized Target Fusion technology. The role emphasizes simulation, analysis, and cross-functional engineering collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Perform transient and nonlinear finite element structural analysesInterpret results and recommend design improvementsSupport failure investigations and modification assessmentsDocument technical findings for varied stakeholdersCorrelate test data with simulation resultsRequirements:
Master’s degree or equivalent industry experienceMinimum five years of mechanical simulation experienceExperience with ANSYS, LS-DYNA, Abaqus, or COMSOLKnowledge of structural mechanics, vibration, impact, and shockProficiency with Python, MATLAB, or similar toolsApply structural mechanics, nonlinear finite element analysis, and engineering judgment to strengthen LM26 performance at General Fusion.
