The Executive Director role requires a positive, engaging, and community-minded executive on site to lead its dedicated team, following the retirement of its founding ED. A Community Futures Development Corporation funded by FedDev Ontario, Frontenac Business Services (FBS) helps entrepreneurs start and grow businesses across the rural County of Frontenac with free business and financial counselling and flexible commercial loans of up to $300,000.

Reporting to a volunteer Board of Directors and leading a staff of two, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the organization and ensuring the Board’s strategic objectives are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- A collaborative, self-directed professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and substantial experience developing and executing business plans, budgets, financial forecasts including related administrative reporting and project management.
- An approachable leader able to advise and support the Board on strategic planning and policy, prepare accurate board packages and reports, and act as spokesperson alongside the Chair.
- An adept and resourceful professional with experience managing budgets, cash flow, loan portfolio reporting, ensuring compliance with FedDev Ontario contribution agreements, and coordinating annual audits.




- Develops an operational plan aligned with the strategic plan and oversees the day-to-day delivery of programs and services.
- Provides hands-on business counselling and leads staff who support clients with business information, business plans, and financing applications.
- An experienced coach and mentor able to recruit, coach and mentor staff, fostering a positive, healthy and team-oriented workplace.
- A creative problem-solver able to relate to SME business owners, regardless of their industry.
- An innovative, client-focused business development qualified experienced at building and sustaining strong relationships across key stakeholder groups: local businesses, community organizations, peer economic development agencies, and government partners. Promotes FBS services throughout the region to strengthen awareness and engagement.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, commerce or finance.
- Experience in business counselling and knowledge of small business resources and programs.
- Proven ability to develop and implement work plans with measurable objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Knowledge of Frontenac County and its business sectors. A vehicle, valid drivers license and insurance for business use of the vehicle.

COMPENSATION $85,000 - $110,000 per annum

Pay: $85,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
