Apply cement chemistry expertise to recycled glass research at the National Research Council. The two-year fellowship centers on experimental concrete materials investigations. This Postdoctoral Fellow will work in an NRC laboratory under direct supervision of an NRC researcher. The project examines ground recycled glass as a scalable supplementary cementitious material for low-carbon, high-performance concrete. Candidates contribute research planning, laboratory investigations, data interpretation, modelling, and technical dissemination.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage cementitious materials research activities
- Characterize hydration mechanisms and pozzolanic reactivity
- Perform concrete durability and performance testing
- Analyze experimental data and develop recommendations
- Prepare reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications
Requirements:
- Ph.
D. in cement chemistry, materials science, or related field
- Experience with supplementary cementitious materials research
- Experience designing and interpreting laboratory experiments
- Experience with durability assessment and service-life methodologies
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary research teams Bring cement chemistry, experimental design, and concrete durability expertise to NRC research on sustainable supplementary materials.
