Where the People AI Deployment Lead readies HR processes for automation, the Solutions Designer takes that readied work and builds it — rapidly prototyping, coding, and shipping the agents, automations, and lightweight apps that solve real HR problems. This is a hands‑on craft role for someone who moves quickly from problem to working prototype to production. The Designer “vibe‑builds” and assembles solutions in low‑code and agent platforms and dropping into code where it is faster or better — and partners closely with the Deployment Lead, HR Systems, and McKesson Technology to put durable solutions into the hands of HR. Select solutions may be managed from idea to launch from within HR with limited oversight, and more complex solutions may require a handoff to MT to fully implement.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate Readied Workflows into Technical Designs (20%) Take defined inputs, outputs, decision points, and ownership and turn them into a concrete solution design or mockup. Make pragmatic build decisions — what an agent handles, what is automated, what stays human — and flag where a process needs more readiness before it can be built.
- Build & Prototype Solutions (30%) Build agents, automations, and lightweight apps that solve the HR problems surfaced and readied by process owners across HR & partners within the Workforce Innovation team Rapidly prototype — turn a readied workflow into a working build quickly, favoring momentum and learning over perfection, then refine based on user feedback Build across low-code and agent platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot Studio / Power Platform, ServiceNow, Moveworks) and drop into code (Python, scripting, APIs) where it is the better tool. Lead the prototype and build, partnering closely with UX designer for interface designs and McKesson Technology for complex enterprise solutions.
- Iterate from Real Usage (20%) Pilot solutions with real users, instrument them, and improve based on actual usage and performance. Tune prompts, logic, and integrations to raise quality, reliability, and experience.
- Harden, Document & Hand to Operations (15%) Harden solutions for production including error handling, guardrails, data handling, and monitoring and document how they work. Fully ready the solution for transition and lifecycle management. Hand solutions to HR Systems / operations / COE owners for ongoing ownership, in line with the standards set by the Deployment Lead.
- Maintain a Reusable Build Toolkit & Standards (15%) Build and curate reusable components, patterns,
and templates so each new solution ships faster than the last. Contribute to shared build, security, and quality standards for AI and automation in HR. What Success Looks Like Readied HR workflows are turned into working, deployed solutions on a short cycle. Solutions are reliable in production, well-documented, and cleanly handed to operations. A growing library of reusable components shortens the build time for each current solution. Measurable capacity, cycle‑time, and experience gains are realized from shipped builds. Demonstrates a repeatable “ready‑then‑build” model that scales across HR. Minimum Job Qualifications Education / Training Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, design, engineering, or a related field — or equivalent demonstrated building experience. Certifications in relevant low‑code / agent platforms (e.g., Power Platform, Copilot Studio, ServiceNow) preferred. Business Experience Typically 7+ years of relevant experience building automations, agents, integrations, or applications, consistent with a P5 individual contributor. Demonstrated portfolio of solutions taken from prototype to production. HR or enterprise‑process context is a plus. Specialized Knowledge & Skills Fluency with low‑code / agent platforms and the ability to drop into code (Python, scripting, APIs) when it is faster or better. Hands‑on experience building with LLMs and agent tooling; prompt, logic, and integration design. Comfort with ambiguity; moves from problem to working prototype quickly and iterates from real usage. Builds for reliability, quality, security, and maintainability, and documents and hands off cleanly. Collaboration mindset, working in tight partnership with the HR COE or Proces
