Lead public health laboratory operations at Public Health Ontario’s Toronto laboratory, applying microbiology expertise and operational leadership across essential services. As Lab Manager, you will oversee Clinical and Environmental Bacteriology operations within PHO’s Toronto Laboratory program. You will guide technical services, quality management, regulatory compliance, staff development, and responses to urgent public health situations. The position supports reliable laboratory services for public health units, hospitals, laboratories, and other partners.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day laboratory operations and technical functional oversight
- Manage responses to outbreaks and critical public health situations
- Implement regulatory, safety, accreditation, and training requirements




- Direct quality improvement and performance measurement activities
- Build multidisciplinary teams and manage staff performance

Requirements:
- Practising CMLTO registration in good standing for clinical programs
- Six years of relevant laboratory experience for clinical programs
- Five years of progressive management experience
- Experience working in a unionized setting
- Microbiology registration and quality tools experience are assets Bring laboratory leadership, microbiology knowledge, quality management, and stakeholder communication to PHO’s Toronto operations.
