Lead reliable, observable data platforms at General Motors from the Markham office three days weekly in a hybrid Staff Engineer role. This senior technical leadership role supports GM’s Software-Defined Vehicle platform through scalable infrastructure, production operations, and customer partnership. You will work across SRE, data engineering, infrastructure, developer experience, application, and product teams. The focus includes vehicle telemetry, data ingestion, observability, and platform operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Design fault-tolerant infrastructure for vehicle telemetry and data ingestion
- Lead production readiness across multiple engineering teams
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, and rollback practices
- Define SLOs, SLIs, monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks




- Lead incidents, post-incident reviews, and durable reliability fixes

Requirements:
- Eight or more years in SRE, DevOps, or systems engineering
- Experience building high-scale cloud-native production systems
- Observability expertise including OTEL collectors, dashboards, and alerts
- Programming ability in Python, Go, Java, or comparable languages
- Experience leading incidents and participating in on-call rotations Bring production reliability, observability, automation, and technical leadership to General Motors’ connected vehicle data platforms.
