Latem industries is a manufacturing facility located on Struck Court in Cambridge Ontario. We clean and/or coat metal parts. We have one position available for a 5S Associate & Backup for Mix Room / Waste Water on the day shift. NO STUDENTS. THE APPLICANT MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK 6:30am-3pm MONDAY TO FRIDAY. References will be verified thru the reference companies HR department and thru your past manager or supervisor.

You must be physically fit and able to bend/lift repeatedly. It can be a hot work environment in the summer.

The 5S Associate duties include:

· Implementation and Maintenance: Assist to develop, implement, and maintain 5S standards throughout the facility, including visual management systems like floor markings and shadow boards.

· Training and Education: Participate in training sessions for employees on 5S principles and best practices, and help to ensure company-wide adherence. Work with management to ensure set standards are followed.

· Auditing and Inspections: Assist with audits and inspect work areas to ensure compliance with 5S standards and identify areas for improvement.

· Documentation and Reporting: Assist if necessary

· Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

· Leadership and Collaboration: Participate in 5S projects and work with various departments to ensure 5S initiatives are successful.

· Visual Management: Assist with the development and maintenance of visual management systems to support 5S initiatives, such as signage and floor markings.

· Employee Engagement: Foster a positive work environment by encouraging employee participation in 5S activities and recognizing outstanding contributions.

· Sustainment:



Implement methods to sustain 5S practices over time.

· Safety: Ensure adherence to safety laws and procedures, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.

Wastewater Responsibilities/Duties:

· Maintain the cleanliness of the waste water area, including the electrical room

· Keep a log of all waste water treatment and activities

· Proper cleaning of all waste water equipment

· Production duties when required

· Ensure that all regulations within the environmental department of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo are complied with

· Bring forward suggestions to improve the system to management, keeping in mind the no changes to the waste water treatment will be tolerated unless approved by the Production Manager and/or Maintenance Manager

Mix Room Responsibilities/Duties:

· Safely and carefully operate all the machinery used in the mixing process.

· Recognize and identify the chemicals ingredients of the different formulations types involved in the plant operation.

· Lifting and loading loads in the mixer in an accurate way. For hand adds the load must be weighed to the nearest 0.5 lb. For bags no tolerance is allowed.

· Follow a rigid order of adding the ingredients into the mixer

· Must follow the Mixing Procedure in the tolerances specified.

· Must be able to use basics mechanical tools to open drums or totes.

· Operate the Fork Lift and hydraulic lift in a safe manner

· Maintain the Mix Room area keeping it clean and neat.

· Clean mixing tanks, totes, floor spills, etc.

· Work at other areas in case there is no work in the Mix Room.





· Computer use-data entry, logs and formulations

· Use various measuring and formulating tools

· Operate machinery, control panels and dust collector

· Inventory management

· How to access, read and find information in the Work Instruction Binder

· Start up, shut down and protected operation of all machinery (mixers, vacuums, dust collector)

· Customer specific instructions and non-conforming materials

· Quality control of all finished product

· Create, maintain and update records and documents (computers, log book)
