- Role Description The Accounting Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON. We can certainly consider remote work dependant on experience. This position oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will manage month-end and year-end close processes, reconcile accounts, oversee fixed asset accounting, and support budgeting and forecasting activities. The role includes analyzing financial data to provide insights to leadership, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls,



and coordinating with external auditors as needed.

Core Technical Competencies

1. RIBO Trust Accounting & Compliance

Trust vs. Operating Segregation: Execution of daily trust account sweeps, handling of insurer payables, client premiums, return premiums, and net commission transfers out of trust.

RIBO Financial Reporting: Preparation of supporting schedules for RIBO Form 1 Position Reports (semi-annual and year-end compliance reporting).

Trust Balance Calculations: Ensuring the trust asset pool (bank balances, premiums receivable) matches trust liabilities (unearned commissions, insurer payables) at all times to avoid trust deficits.

2. Insurer Reconciliation & Cash Application

Direct Bill Reconciliations: Processing carrier commission statements, matching company-billed accounts, and identifying commission variance errors or chargebacks.

Agency Bill Account Current Reconciliations: Monthly reconciliation of insurer statements against sub-ledger accounts payable, tracking gross premiums collected versus net amounts owed.

Bad Debt & Aged AR Management: Tracking overdue premium accounts to trigger cancellation notices within statutory timeframes to protect brokerage liability.

3. Broker Management System (BMS)

Proficiency in ledger-integrated BMS platforms - Acturis experience would be delightful
