The Program Leader will act as a team member in the facilitation of our Afterschool Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and fun environment for school aged children through implementing daily activities and communicating with participants, co-workers and supervisors. The candidate will work to enhance participants experience by providing recent and engaging experiences during our programs.
Responsibilities:
- Be onsite Monday to Friday during scheduled program hours
- Facilitate & guide activities throughout the day
- Follow the provided schedule and facilitate the planned activities in areas of Arts and Crafts, Sports, Science and Technology, Cooking, Outdoor Education
- Work to engage and integrate all participants in the daily program
- Assist with daily operations and facility maintenance
- Effectively communicate with other staff, supervisors & families
- Monitor children throughout the day and always ensure safety
- Keep detailed logs of daily interactions with members, incidents & accidents
- Empower the participants to successfully learn and develop appropriate life skills for their abilities
- Assist in the daily upkeep of the center, equipment and supplies
- Actively participate in all programs and activities
