About ORCAORCA is Lydia AI's agentic AI platform, enabling enterprises to execute complex business workflows using AI models, tools, and enterprise data.
We're building a platform where distributors and enterprise partners can access reliable, reusable AI workflows through standard protocols such as A2A and MCP.
The RoleWe're looking for a hands-on Senior Backend & AI Platform Engineer to build the infrastructure that makes ORCA's AI capabilities reliable, secure, and accessible to external partners.
You'll work with an existing codebase, improve the underlying execution architecture, and help establish AI-native engineering practices across the team.
What You'll Do
Build the platform
Design and develop backend services supporting reusable AI workflows, APIs, and distributed execution.
Enable agent interoperability
Expose ORCA capabilities through A2A and MCP, with consistent execution, state management, and permissions.
Ensure reliability
Implement durable execution, retries, recovery, monitoring, and secure multi-tenant operations.
Productize AI capabilities
Evaluate existing functionality, address technical gaps, and establish reusable, tested workflow contracts.
Improve engineering delivery
Leverage AI coding agents, automated testing, and evaluation systems to improve development velocity and quality.
What We're Looking For
5+ years of experience building production backend or distributed systems, with strong Python and database skills.
Experience designing APIs, asynchronous workflows, and reliable execution systems.
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), CI/CD, and production debugging.
Practical understanding of AI agents, tool calling, agent harnesses, and evaluation.
Strong engineering judgment and ability to independently own complex systems from design through production.
Nice to Have
Experience with MCP, A2A, or agent orchestration frameworks.
Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms or developer-facing APIs.
What Success Looks LikeWithin your first 3–6 months, you'll help establish a reliable shared execution platform, make ORCA's first qualified workflows accessible through A2A/MCP, and improve the team's ability to deliver and maintain AI workflows independently.
You'll play a key role in turning ORCA's existing capabilities into a scalable enterprise AI platform.
