Working closely with the Executive Director, you will help create an environment where children thrive, educators feel supported, and families feel connected to their childcare community.

About the Role

As Centre Manager, you will provide both educational and operational leadership, ensuring the Centre delivers high-quality early learning and operates effectively and in accordance with provincial licensing requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Support individualized care plans and ensure children's individual needs are understood and respected.

Team Leadership & Development

- Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching and support to educators and staff.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, staff scheduling, performance evaluations and professional development.
- Foster a positive, respectful and collaborative workplace culture.
- Address staff concerns and workplace challenges with professionalism and sound judgement.

Centre Operations & Administration

- Oversee daily Centre operations, including staffing, scheduling, classroom coverage and administrative functions.
- Manage enrolment, waitlists, family orientation and ongoing family communication.
- Maintain accurate attendance,

registration, staff and children's records.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Director on operational planning, policies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Families & Community Engagement

- Build welcoming and supportive relationships with children, families and the broader Sun Peaks community.
- Assist families with accessing available childcare subsidies and resources.
- Develop relationships with local organizations and community partners to enrich children's experiences.

Licensing, Health & Safety

- Ensure compliance with the BC Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Child Care Licensing Regulation and applicable Interior Health requirements.
- Maintain appropriate licensing documentation, incident reporting and regulatory records.
- Support health and safety practices, emergency preparedness and licensing inspections.

What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is approachable, organized and confident in their leadership abilities. You enjoy working with people, can balance competing priorities and understand that a successful childcare centre depends on both strong educational programming and effective operations.

Qualifications & Experience

- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate.
- Minimum five years of experience in early childhood education or licensed childcare (preferred).
- Previous supervisory, leadership or staff mentorship experience.
- Strong understanding of BC childcare licensing regulations and the BC Early Learning Framework.
