Overview

We are looking for a supportive, engaged educator who enjoys working collaboratively, contributing ideas and helping create a calm, welcoming and stimulating classroom environment. You will work alongside the classroom teacher and team to support children's independence, exploration, learning and daily routines.

Support the lead teacher in the Casa Room of 24 by helping maintain a welcoming, organized classroom and engaging children in daily learning. This role combines attentive classroom support, clear communication, and a collaborative approach to children’s development.

Duties

- Assist with teaching activities, including age-appropriate math, and help children participate in classroom routines.
- Support children’s learning and well-being through attentive, respectful interaction and guidance.
- Help keep classroom materials and spaces organized, and share relevant observations with the lead teacher.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and contribute to a consistent, supportive classroom experience.

Who We Are Hoping to Meet We know that qualifications and experience matter, but so do the qualities a person brings with them each day.

We are looking for people who are:

- Warm, patient and genuinely enjoy working with children aged 2.5–6 years.
- Calm and confident, with a natural ability to guide a classroom and establish a positive presence.
- Creative, resourceful and comfortable thinking on their feet.
- Strong communicators who value respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Responsible, dependable and able to take initiative.
- Flexible and open-minded,

with an appreciation for the individuality of each child and the changing dynamics of a classroom.
- Interested in Montessori philosophy and in creating an environment that encourages independence, curiosity and meaningful learning.

Every year, every classroom and every group of children is different. Our work requires educators who can observe, adapt, problem-solve and bring fresh ideas to the table. We value people who recognize that there is no single formula for working with children and who are willing to learn alongside them. Qualifications & Experience

- RECE designation is an asset.
- Montessori training or experience is preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children is an asset.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
- Ability to meet all Ministry of Education and licensing documentation requirements.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification are required.
- Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
- French language skills are an asset.

Don't have formal Montessori training or an ECE credential? We are open to candidates with relevant experience, a genuine interest in early childhood education and the right qualities for our team. Training will be provided,

and support with additional schooling and professional development may be available. A Little About Joining Our Team

We are a small and growing school, and that means people matter. We appreciate educators who bring their own strengths, interests and natural talents into their work. We value collaboration, flexibility, fresh thinking and a willingness to contribute beyond simply following a routine.

You will have the opportunity to develop professionally, share ideas, build meaningful relationships and be part of a team that is continually growing and evolving.

Come See Us in Action!

We believe the best way to understand our school is to experience it.

As part of our interview process, we would love to invite successful candidates to participate in an in-class working interview. This is an opportunity to see our programs in action, meet members of our team and get a genuine feel for the environment, classroom dynamics and daily experiences that make up life at BPMS.

It is also a chance for us to get to know you beyond your resume and see the natural strengths and talents you might bring to our community.

Key Requirement A valid driver's licence and reliable personal transportation are essential. Our school is located in Russell, Ontario, where public transportation is not available.
