Part-Time Construction Delivery Driver / Labourer The Shop BH | Halifax Regional Municipality, NS

Position: Part-Time | Approximately 15–25 Hours per Week

About the Position The Shop BH is seeking a reliable, organized, and safety-conscious Part-Time Construction Delivery Driver / Shop Support team member.

This is a hands-on, versatile position that combines material deliveries, supplier pickups, shop organization, and general construction site support.

The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable, takes initiative, and enjoys a varied workday. This role is essential to keeping our construction projects organized, supplied, and running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Deliveries & Material Handling

- Deliver construction materials, tools, and equipment to job sites throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality.
- Pick up materials and supplies from vendors, ensuring orders are accurate and complete.
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload construction materials and equipment.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
- Keep the company vehicle clean, organized, and properly maintained.

Construction Site Support
- Assist construction crews with general labour tasks, including moving materials, site cleanup, and maintaining organized work areas.
- Provide an extra set of hands to support crews with tasks requiring additional assistance.
- Perform miscellaneous site duties and odd jobs as directed by site leads.
- Assist with physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving construction materials and equipment.
- Help maintain safe, clean, and efficient job sites.

Shop & Equipment Support
- Assist with organizing and maintaining the shop, tools, materials, and equipment.
- Track tools and equipment moving between the shop and job sites to ensure proper return and storage.
- Assist with inventory, material preparation,



and general shop upkeep.
- Complete occasional errands and other operational tasks as required.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Nova Scotia driver’s licence appropriate for the company vehicle.
- Clean driver’s abstract required.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to regularly perform physical labour, including lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 lbs, with heavier materials handled using appropriate assistance or equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing daily requirements.
- Professional and courteous when interacting with clients, suppliers, and fellow team members.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following company policies and procedures.

Assets, but Not Required
- Previous experience in construction, building materials, deliveries, or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with construction tools and materials.
- Forklift operation or material-handling experience.
- Experience coordinating deliveries or managing inventory.
