Silkstone Group is hiring construction labourers with experience working around heavy equipment and using chainsaws and other power tools.

Our work includes civil construction, excavation, site preparation and tree clearing. We need people who are comfortable on an active construction site, know how to work safely around equipment, and are ready for physical work outdoors. Experience in civil construction, excavation, roadwork, utilities or similar site work is required. Residential framing or renovation experience alone will not meet this requirement.

What you’ll do

- Use chainsaws for tree cutting, limbing, bucking and clearing, within your training and experience.
- Operate cut-off saws, compactors and other construction power tools.
- Work alongside excavators, loaders, trucks and other heavy equipment.
- Help with excavation, trenching, grading, drainage and general site work.
- Move materials, explicit brush and debris, and keep the site organized.
- Check tools before use and report damage or safety concerns.
- Follow direction from the crew lead and work safely with the rest of the crew.

What you need

- Previous construction labouring experience on civil, excavation or similar heavy equipment job sites.
- Hands-on chainsaw experience and confidence using construction power tools safely.
- An understanding of how to work safely around moving equipment.
- The ability to handle physical work and changing weather conditions.
- Reliable attendance, good communication and a willingness to pull your weight.
- Reliable transportation to get to work.

Chainsaw experience, training or certification, tree clearing experience and experience signalling equipment operators are strong assets. Let us know what equipment and tools you’ve used and any relevant training you hold. We’re looking to fill these positions promptly. Apply through Indeed with your work history, chainsaw and power tool experience, and availability to start.
