Contract Lifecycle Marketing Lead (Customer.Io)Remote, Canada | Contract | 3 to 4 Months | $65-75/hr The business is in the middle of a major brand and product relaunch and is moving its lifecycle program onto Customer. The RoleThis is a high-ownership contract partnering closely with the GM, Product, Engineering and Data teams. You'll be the one person who designs the journeys, builds them in Customer.Define lifecycle stages and segments (new, active, at-risk, lapsed, reactivated) for both buyers and sellers. Rebuild existing journeys in Customer.Build, QA and launch new journeys in English and Canadian French, with the first 2 to 3 live within 3 weeks of build starting.

Set up permanent holdouts, a lifecycle dashboard and lift readouts so results are explicit from the start.

Build journeys to last: dynamic content driven by data, automatic alerts when a journey breaks, and resilience to changing events and URLs. Ensure all programs follow CASL and consent-based marketing best practices. Use AI tools daily for segmentation analysis,

copy and content variants, and campaign QA.

Use good judgment on data privacy, accuracy and brand voice when deciding what to automate. 5+ years in lifecycle, CRM or retention marketing, ideally at a consumer tech, app or marketplace company. Hands-on Customer.Io experience, with at least 2 end-to-end builds (journeys, segments, campaigns and the data model behind them). Proven lift from lifecycle programs measured against holdouts or control groups.

Experience designing journeys and segments, not only building them from a brief. Comfort writing event and attribute requirements and working directly with engineering and data teams. Working knowledge of CASL and consent-based marketing. Two-sided marketplace experience is a strong asset.
