Shape land use planning and subdivision services as Director of Planning and Community Services in North Saanish, British Columbia.

This experienced municipal leader reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and directs a department serving approximately 12,000 residents.

Responsibilities include planning functions, inspections, bylaw enforcement, records, contracts, budgets, and advice to Council. The Director also serves as Municipal Approving Officer and supports long-term strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as Municipal Approving Officer

Answer inquiries about planning, subdivision, inspections, and bylaws

Maintain departmental files and records

Administer consultant service contracts

Attend Council, Committee,



and public information meetings

Requirements

Six years’ public planning experience, preferably in local government

Planning degree or related discipline plus supplemental planning courses

Master’s degree in planning preferred

Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners

Ability to investigate issues and present transparent recommendations

Bring land use expertise, subdivision knowledge, and clear public-sector recommendations to North Saanich’s Planning and Community Services Department.
