Overview The English Tutor helps learners build confidence and practical ability in English through clear instruction, guided practice, and constructive feedback. This role supports learners’ progress by adapting explanations and activities to their needs and encouraging steady participation.

Responsibilities

- Lesson Planning & Preparation: Plan and prepare structured English lessons based on students’ grade levels, language proficiency, individual learning needs, and academic goals. Select appropriate teaching materials, worksheets, and learning activities.
- English Language Instruction: Deliver engaging one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions covering speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and reading comprehension.
- Teaching & Skill Development: Explain language concepts, grammar rules, sentence structures, and writing techniques clearly. Help students develop reading fluency, writing organization, verbal communication, and overall English proficiency.
- Individualized Instruction: Adapt teaching strategies, lesson content, and instructional pace to students’ ages, abilities, and learning progress. Provide additional support to ESL learners, newcomer students, and children with different learning needs.
- Homework & Student Assessment:



Assign and review homework, prepare practice exercises and assessments, identify learning gaps, and provide constructive feedback to reinforce understanding and academic improvement.
- Progress Monitoring & Communication: Track students’ learning progress, maintain lesson records, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and communicate regular progress updates to parents, students, and the academic team.

Qualifications Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Valid teaching certificate or relevant teaching qualification.
- 2–3 years of teaching experience.
- Previous teaching experience in public or private schools.
- Strong English communication and writing skills.
- Practical tutoring or teaching abilities, including explaining concepts clearly, guiding students through practice, and providing constructive feedback.
- Patience, strong interpersonal skills, and clear communication.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning needs and student levels.
- Ability to create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning workplace.

Pay: $25.00-$50.00 per hour
