Drive operational accounting and process improvement for Canada Life’s Canadian finance ecosystem, with leadership across close, controls, and team development. Work permanently full time in Toronto, London, or Winnipeg.As Assistant Vice-President, Accounting, you will lead operational accounting processes and quarterly close activities for Workplace Benefits & Retirement, Individual Insurance, and Wealth. Reporting to the Vice-President, Canada Controller, Financial Planning & Accounting, you will elevate process quality, strengthen internal controls, and foster innovation.

The scope includes four direct reports and a broader team of approximately 65 FTE.Key Responsibilities:





Lead quarterly close across three Canada Life business areasStrengthen internal control practices across accounting operationsBuild relationships across Canadian and Lifeco Finance teamsProvide coaching for performance and developmentPartner on transactions and strategic accounting initiativesRequirements:

Bachelor’s degree required;

CPA preferred10–15 years progressive accounting or operational accounting experienceKnowledge of IFRS and financial services accounting processesReliability Status Security Clearance required as condition of employmentCapabilities in results, talent, innovation, and collaborationApply operational accounting expertise, control enhancement, and cooperative leadership to advance Canada Life’s finance performance.
