Lead shipboard machinery operations with BC Ferries as a First Engineer in Nanaimo, applying technical expertise and secure work practices. This regular position supports technically advanced vessels.

As First Engineer, you help manage the ship’s machinery, equipment, operating systems, and services. The position requires extensive technical, interpersonal, and leadership experience, plus operational knowledge supporting safe, efficient vessel operation. You may receive training on technically advanced vessels across the fleet.

Requirements

Transport Canada Second Class Motor Certificate or higher
