Summary Description

G Visser & Sons is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to safely transport and handle potatoes between storage facilities and packing areas, ensuring efficient operations while minimizing product damage and waste.

The successful candidate will be a reliable, safety-conscious professional with strong forklift operating skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to protecting product quality and equipment.

Key responsibilities

· Safely operate forklifts to move and transport potatoes from storage facilities to the packing and production areas.

· Carefully handle potato bins and loads to prevent bruising, damage, or product loss.

· Load, unload, stack, and organize potato bins and materials efficiently.

· Ensure a steady supply of potatoes to the production line while maintaining product quality.

· Follow all workplace safety procedures, especially when operating equipment around other employees and moving machinery.

· Perform daily forklift inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns.

· Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage and working areas.

· Work closely with the warehouse and production teams to support daily operations.





Education/Qualifications and Experience

· Previous forklift operating experience is required, preferably in agriculture, warehousing, or food production.

· Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures and safe load handling.

· Ability to handle potatoes and other agricultural products carefully to minimize damage and waste.

· Experience moving and stacking large bins or heavy loads is an asset.

· Good awareness of surroundings, including pedestrians, equipment, and production activities.

· Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
