A valuable reading chair. A rural property getting a second life. A reason to take Wednesday off.
We’re developing upcoming stories for Wander North, and we’d love to hear from writers, destinations, and the people making interesting things happen across Ontario.
A few things on our radar:
? Private reading escapes
Cabins, inns, and small stays where you could happily disappear with a stack of books. Think comfortable seating, proper lighting, peace, and somewhere to put your tea. A formal retreat package is entirely optional.
? The people reviving rural properties
Who saw something in the old motel, farmhouse, or shuttered gathering place—and decided to give it another chapter? We’re interested in the people, the learning curve, and what their work means for the community around them.
? Places worth visiting midweek
What makes a Tuesday arrival worth arranging? It might be a quieter trail, a genuinely good stay-and-dine offer,
or an experience you can only have when everyone else has gone home.
Writers: Send us a brief pitch with a clear angle, why you’re the person to write it, and links to a couple of relevant samples. Let us know what you’ve experienced firsthand and what would require a visit.
Destinations, properties, and operators: Tell us what’s happening, who’s behind it, and why our readers would care. Specific details help us see the story.
We’re especially interested in locally owned and Indigenous-led experiences, overlooked places, and stories that give readers a reason to explore a little further.
