The Public Works Labourer is responsible for performing a variety of labouring activities to maintain and repair the utilities (water distribution and sewer collection/treatment) for the City.

Responsibilities:

- Dig ditches and trenches using shovels and other hand tools.
- Assist with performing manual water and sewer repairs on City infrastructure.
- Operate jackhammers and drills to break up pavement.
- Load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment.
- Assist equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment or trucks.




- Assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment.
- May operate mobile sidewalk-cleaning equipment.
- Follows established procedures and ensures established performance safety standards are met.
- Performs other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

- Grade 12 education or equivalent GED
- Standard First Aid and CPR

- H2S Alive
- Confined Space Entry & Rescue
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 licence

Asset:

- Class I Water Distribution and Class I Waste Water would be considered an asset.

Additional Information:

- Classification – Unionized, CUPE Local 90
- Wage: $18.39 - $22.08 (Commensurate with CUPE Local 90 Collective Agreement)
