Assess group disability claims at First Canadian in Sherwood Park, using medical analysis and case management in an in-office setting. Full time hours support claim resolution.

Reporting to the Manager, Group & Creditor Life & Disability Claims, the Claims Examiner manages group benefit claims through resolution. The work includes evaluating eligibility, calculating benefit payments, and coordinating medical or vocational interventions supporting recovery and return to work. You will communicate with employees, employers, physicians, and other professionals while maintaining detailed claim records.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess entitlement under contractual, medical, functional, and occupational provisions
- Conduct telephone interviews about disability scope and return-to-work barriers
- Facilitate case management plans and monitor outcomes




- Coordinate modified or gradual return-to-work programs
- Calculate payments and maintain accurate financial reserves

Requirements:
- Business, Insurance, Legal, or Risk certificate or diploma
- One to two years of related insurance, medical, legal, or service experience
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
- Fluent English with strong verbal and written communication
- Claims adjudication experience and French are assets
