The Town of Pouch Cove invites applications from experienced, safety-conscious and dependable individuals for a full time permanent Equipment Operator position. Reporting directly to the Lead Hand, the successful candidate will support the delivery of essential municipal services throughout the year.

What you will do

· Operate loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, plows, sanding/salting equipment and other Town vehicles and machinery.

· Perform snow clearing, ice control, road maintenance and winter emergency response, including scheduled on-call duty.

· Assist with water and sewer repairs, drainage, infrastructure projects, grounds and municipal facility maintenance.

· Inspect equipment, complete daily work records and report safety concerns or mechanical defects promptly.

· Work safely, cooperatively and professionally with colleagues, residents and the public.

What you bring

· A minimum of three (3) years of relevant heavy equipment operating experience; three to five (3–5) years of experience is the preferred range.

· Heavy equipment training or an acceptable equivalent combination of training and practical experience.

· Valid NL Class 5, 8 and 9/9A licences,



as required for the Town’s equipment, and a satisfactory driver’s abstract; Class 3 is an asset.

· A minimum of three (3) years’ experience with winter maintenance (snow clearing) and municipal public works operations, strong safety awareness and the ability to work in challenging weather. Three to five (3–5) years of experience is the preferred range.

· Relevant safety certifications or willingness to complete required training.
