Inventory & Shipping/Receiving Specialist
L1FE Outdoors Inc. – Embro, Ontario
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: On-site, Embro, Ontario
About L1FE Outdoors
L1FE Outdoors is a growing powersports and equipment dealership located in Embro, Ontario. We specialize in ATVs, side-by-sides, compact tractors, outdoor equipment, parts, accessories, and service.
Beyond our retail dealership, we operate several specialized e-commerce websites serving customers across Canada and beyond.
We're a small, hands-on team where everyone wears multiple hats. We work closely together, help each other across different areas of the business, and take pride in what we accomplish as a team.
About the Position
We're looking for an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Inventory & Shipping/Receiving Specialist.
This is a hands-on position that combines inventory management, inventory costing and data entry, shipping and receiving, warehouse organization, and general business administration.
No two days are exactly alike. You might spend your morning receiving and organizing incoming inventory, followed by calculating inventory costs, entering product information into our systems, preparing customer shipments, or helping resolve an operational challenge.
We're looking for someone who enjoys a combination of physical and computer-based work, takes pride in accuracy and organization, and wants to develop the skills and confidence to independently manage their responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Costing
- Receive, inspect, organize, and accurately record incoming inventory.
- Calculate inventory costs, including product costs, freight, and other applicable charges.
- Accurately enter product costs, pricing information, and inventory data into our business systems.
- Maintain inventory records and assist with stock counts and reconciliation.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify discrepancies.
- Research products, part numbers, and product compatibility when needed.
- Help maintain accurate inventory information across our business systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory organization and processes.
Shipping & Receiving
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Process shipments using courier software and online shipping platforms.
- Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and related documentation.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with couriers and freight companies.
- Assist with customs documentation and cross-border shipments when required.
- Inspect incoming deliveries and address discrepancies or shipping issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shipping and receiving area.
Business Operations & Team Support
- Assist with invoicing, order processing, and general administrative tasks.
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, and couriers regarding orders and shipments.
- Research and resolve day-to-day operational issues.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to support daily business operations.
- Be willing to step outside your primary responsibilities and lend a hand when needed.
Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who enjoys organization, accuracy, problem-solving, and hands-on work, and wants to build a long-term career with our company.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Good computer skills and confidence learning new software and inventory systems.
- Strong numerical skills and confidence performing basic calculations.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail when entering financial and inventory data.
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets, inventory software, and computerized business systems.
- A natural curiosity and willingness to continuously learn new skills.
- Initiative and the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
- The ability to safely handle inventory and assist with lifting heavier items, up to 80 lbs with appropriate assistance.
- A valid driver's licence.
Education or experience in inventory management, shipping and receiving, warehousing, business operations, or a related field is an asset, but not essential. Experience with inventory software, courier shipping platforms, spreadsheets, or online order processing would be beneficial.
We are willing to train the right person. We're more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, aptitude, and motivation than someone who checks every box on a résumé.
