Manulife is hiring an Investment Risk Analyst to provide independent risk oversight and quantitative portfolio-construction insights for an assigned group of portfolios. This is an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities

- Assess portfolio risks, positioning, construction decisions, and adherence to stated objectives and risk parameters.
- Analyze factor exposures, concentration, liquidity, stress tests, scenarios, and other portfolio-risk measures.
- Identify emerging or unintended risks and communicate findings to portfolio managers and investment stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain analytical tools and workflows using R and/or Python.
- Contribute to risk frameworks, monitoring, reporting, and analytical data processes.
- Collaborate with investment, risk, and global colleagues on cross-asset issues and analytical initiatives.

Qualifications





- At least five years of experience in quantitative analysis, investment risk, portfolio construction, or a related investment field.
- Strong quantitative skills and programming experience in R and/or Python.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant quantitative or finance-related field.
- Knowledge of financial markets, investment instruments, and portfolio risk.
- Experience across multiple asset classes and a CFA, FRM, or similar qualification are assets.
