We're looking for a motivated and safety-focused Junior Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to join our Duncan-based team. Working under the guidance of our Health & Safety Coordinator, you'll help support safety initiatives across project sites, shop operations, and office environments while developing your skills toward a full Construction Safety Officer career path.

Compensation

- $32-$36 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Do

- Assist with the administration and continuous improvement of our Health & Safety Program
- Conduct and document site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety observations
- Support incident investigations and corrective action follow-up
- Assist with worker orientations, safety training, and toolbox talks
- Help maintain safety records, certifications, inspections, and compliance documentation
- Participate in COR audits and ongoing safety program requirements
- Conduct regular site visits to support safe work practices and identify hazards
- Promote a positive safety culture through communication, coaching,



and employee engagement
- Assist with emergency preparedness planning and safety drills
- Support Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee activities and documentation

What You Bring

- Minimum Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 certification
- OFA Level 2 or Level 3 considered an asset
- Construction Safety Officer (CSO), NCSO, or occupational health and safety education in progress is considered an asset
- Interest in developing a long-term career in construction health and safety
- Working knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and safety practices is an asset
- Experience in construction, industrial, marine, or heavy civil environments is preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with the ability to travel between project sites
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
