Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Lead Hand to support and coordinate our industrial dough processing and pastry production operations.

This is a technical, hands-on leadership position, not a traditional pastry chef role.

The successful candidate must have practical experience operating industrial bakery machinery, particularly dough sheeters, dough laminators, and automated dough processing equipment.

Experience operating RONDO equipment or similar industrial dough processing and laminating systems is highly desirable.

The Lead Hand will be responsible for operating equipment, coordinating production employees, maintaining product quality, troubleshooting basic operational issues, and ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation & Technical Production

- Operate, set up, adjust, and monitor industrial dough processing and laminating equipment, including RONDO or similar machinery.
- Perform dough sheeting, rolling, folding, cutting, and lamination processes according to product specifications.
- Adjust machine settings, dough thickness, conveyor speeds, and production parameters to ensure consistent product quality.
- Perform equipment start-up, product changeovers, and shutdown procedures.
- Identify and resolve minor operational issues, escalating mechanical problems to Maintenance when necessary.




- Monitor equipment performance and minimize production downtime.

Production Coordination & Leadership

- Coordinate daily activities and workflow across the RONDO production line.
- Assign tasks and provide operational guidance to production employees.
- Support the Production Supervisor and Production Manager in meeting daily production targets.
- Train employees on equipment operation, production procedures, and safety requirements.
- Monitor productivity, production quality, and material usage.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.

Quality, Food Safety & Compliance

- Ensure products meet established standards for dough thickness, weight, dimensions, consistency, and appearance.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, allergen control, and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain accurate production records, equipment checklists, and operational documentation.
- Ensure employees follow workplace health and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Production teams to resolve operational concerns.

Required Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience operating industrial bakery production machinery is required.
- Practical experience with dough sheeting, dough processing, or industrial dough lamination is required.
- Experience working with automated or semi-automated bakery production lines.
- Ability to independently operate, adjust, and monitor industrial production equipment.
- Basic troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills.




- Experience in commercial bakery manufacturing or industrial food production.
- Knowledge of GMP, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to guide and coordinate employees in a quick-paced production environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Availability to work Sunday through Thursday is required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience operating RONDO dough sheeters, laminators, or industrial pastry production lines.
- Experience producing laminated dough products, including puff pastry, croissants, or similar bakery products.
- Previous experience as a Lead Hand, Machine Operator, Line Leader, or Senior Production Operator.
- Experience with machine changeovers, production efficiency monitoring, and waste reduction.
- Experience training employees in industrial bakery operations.

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: CAD $24.00
- Schedule: Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday off.
