Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Casual/On Call

Stó:lō Service Agency (SSA) requires the services of a Casual / On-call Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to fill a vacancy with the Stó:lō Elders Lodge. The LPN will provide care in a “Good Way” within the Licensed Practical Nursing scope of practice and is responsible for conducting clinical assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and evaluating resident outcomes. The role ensures holistic, safe, and respectful care that honors Stó:lō cultural practices and supports the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of Elders.

Based at the Stó:lō Elder’s Lodge (SEL), this position reports directly to the SEL Manager.

Qualifications:

- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
- Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwifes (BCCNM).
- Some experience in community nursing within the designated clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current First Aid Certification including CPR & AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and other computer software including charting programs.
- Knowledge and appreciation of working in service of Truth and Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and communities.
- Ability to maintain a healthy working relationship with staff, community representatives/members and representatives of other organizations, including collaboration with other SSA programs and staff as required.
- Must maintain the confidentiality guidelines of all records,



materials and communications concerning clients, staff and SSA.
- Must demonstrate team building, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Be versatile and demonstrate sound work ethic.
- Strong time management, coordination, and ability to adapt.
- Physically able to carry out the duties of the position.
- Must be able to work 8-12 hours shifts which may include evenings, weekends, and early mornings.
- Wound care, palliative care, footcare, or other training/experience would be an asset.

Successful candidates will be required to provide the following if called in for an interview:

- Must hold and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Drivers’ License.
- Must successfully pass Criminal Records Check.

Salary: Starting at $34.00 per hour, based on qualifications/experience. Type of Position: Casual / On Call position, subject to 3-month probationary period.
