Lantic is currently recruiting for the position of Millhand 2 at our Taber Facility. Mllhand 2 is responsible for supporting day-to-day warehouse, packaging, and material-handling operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and quality-controlled handling of sugar products. This role involves operating equipment, handling packaged and bulk sugar, maintaining cleanliness of the warehouse, and supporting shipping and storage activities in accordance with safety, food safety, and operational standards. WE NEED SOMEONE WHO WILL:

- Follow Company Policies and adhere to safety standards and regulations;
- Tote station operation:
- Operate tote filing equipment, monitor and record fill weights to specification;
- Prepare totes for filling, including pallet inspection, slip sheet placement, bag setup and tote labeling;
- Take product samples and deliver samples to the laboratory;
- Perform metal detection function tests at required interval and document results;
- Remelt Utility:
- Collect remelt sugar throughout the shift and store the sugar is designated areas;




- Use approved equipment and techniques to weigh each remelt, safely melt and return sugar to the process;
- Operate forklift equipment:
- Operate forklift equipment safely to transport sugar products, pallets, totes, and packaging materials;
- Load, unload, stage, and store finished product, raw materials, and packaging supplies;
- Utility Deep Cleaning:
- Perform deep-cleaning and sanitation of production areas, equipment, floors, walls, overheads, conveyors, and packaging areas in accordance with approved sanitation procedures;
- Assist with scheduled shut down cleans, allergen controls, and special sanitation projects as required;
- Silo Cleaning Operator;
- Safely conduct confined space entry in accordance with site procedures and safety regulations;
- Perform cleaning of sugar silos by shoveling sugar and using air tools to break up hardened material;
- Use approved tools and cleaning methods as per sanitation procedures;
- Identify and report sanitation, safety, or equipment issues to the Supervisor or Lead-Hand;
- Maintain required documentation for traceability and compliance;
- Complete other duties as assigned.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES IN THIS CLASSIFICATION WILL HAVE:

- Commitment to work in a safe and efficient manner (adherence to Lock-Out Tag-Out, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Hot Work, and other applicable regulations and practices);
- Ability to work rotating 8-hour and 12-hour shift rotations, including weekends and holidays;
- Ability and willingness to be fit tested and to safely wear a respirator if/when required;
- Willingness to get Fall Protection and Confined Space certification;
- Valid Fall Protection, First Aid, Confined Space, and Forklift tickets/certifications is considered an asset;
- Safety conscious record and attitude.
