Sandhill Nursery is hiring Nursery and Greenhouse Labourers for our 2027 growing season. This seasonal, full-time role is a great fit for people who like working with plants, being outdoors, and staying active. No experience is needed — we provide on-the-job training, and students, young people starting out, and anyone looking for a hands-on seasonal job are encouraged to apply.

Job Details

- Employment type: Seasonal, full-time
- Duration: Approximately 8 months, April 15, 2027 - December 15, 2027
- Work location: Sandhill Nursery, 1686 Aspdin Rd, Huntsville (main site), and the Garden Market by Sandhill Nursery, 85 Ontario St, Burk's Falls.
- Perks: Vacation pay (4%); paid on-the-job training

Main Duties

- Plant, transplant, and pot trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and vegetable starts
- Water, fertilize, weed, and prune plants in the greenhouses and outdoor growing areas
- Monitor plants for pests, disease, and watering needs, and report problems to the supervisor
- Move, space,



and arrange plants and nursery stock; load and unload trucks and deliveries
- Prepare and load customer orders, and help customers carry and load plants
- Keep greenhouses, growing areas, and display areas clean and organized
- Operate and maintain basic nursery equipment, such as carts, hoses, and watering systems
- Do seasonal clean-up, including end-of-season plant care and storage

Requirements

- Education: None required
- Experience: Not required — training provided. Nursery, greenhouse, garden centre, or farm experience is an asset.
- Able to do physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods
- Able to work outdoors and in greenhouses in hot, cold, and wet conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Attention to detail and a commitment to working safely

Pay: $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 60.0 per week
