McPhillips Medical Clinic is looking for a qualified Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join the Manitoba call group and clinic at 5-198 McPhillips Street in Winnipeg.
Our call group consists of eleven members that are highly supportive of each other. There are currently four members at the clinic location that is hiring. Each Obstetrician/Gynecologist has a dedicated assistant, the option to do colposcopy and a highly competitive monthly flat overhead rate.
Within our call group, we share obstetrical patient coverage and provide emergency gynecology patient coverage at Health Sciences Centre via the Acute Care Gynecology Service. Emergency surgery would be expected as part of this call. Gynecologic surgical time will be initially limited to scramble slates.
Additional surgical time can be requested through the Departmental OR Committee as surgical gynecologic practice is established.
Remuneration is derived from both on-call stipends and fee-for-service billing. On-call is stipended at a rate of approximately $2,300 for obstetrical call and $2,100 for gynecology call per 24-hour period.
Fee for service billing applies in addition to the base stipends.
Since the hospital is a teaching centre, the application process will be a dual application for appointments to the Department of Obstetrics,
Gynecology and Reproductive Health Sciences with the expectation of involvement in clinical and didactic undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
We are committed to fostering an setting of skill-building and mutual learning. We therefore have developed the concept of a potential “transition to practice” program for a new graduate who was looking to start practice without a fellowship but with some additional support. Our vision includes formal mentorship through establishing a practice and practice management. This would be a flexible arrangement designed to meet the needs of the applicant.
The successful applicant will support a work and learning environment that embraces the Max Rady
College of Medicine’s Equity, Diversity and inclusion (EDI) policies. With that in mind, applications should include a statement on the applicant’s current or planned contributions to EDI initiatives. We welcome applications from people who reflect the diversity of the community that we serve, including those with marginalized gender identities, racialized and Indigenous people, people with disabilities, and members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
Start date: Negotiable
Application Deadline: November 30, 2026
Please include Cover Letter and CV with your application.
