About Squamish Nature Learners
Squamish Nature Learners (SNL) is an established outdoor, nature-based K–5 school located on the unceded territory of the Sḵwxwú7mesh Nation. For eight years, we have been creating meaningful learning experiences that connect children to the land, their community, and the natural world.
Our program is grounded in ecological education, imaginative and play-based learning, decolonizing pedagogies, and meaningful relationships with local Indigenous Elders and knowledge holders.
We believe children learn through curiosity, exploration, relationships, and direct experiences with the natural world. Our educators bring the BC Curriculum to life through daily outdoor experiences, inquiry, storytelling, creative expression, and ecological learning.
We are an inclusive, anti-racist, and 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming learning community. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, with priority given to Indigenous and BIPOC applicants.
