Hon's Wun-Tun House (2011) Ltd. makes traditional Asian-style noodles — chow mein, ramen, hokkien and yakisoba — for retail and foodservice customers across Canada. We're hiring an entry-level Quality Assurance Technician to join our QA team at our Richmond, BC facility.
This is a hands-on, on-the-floor role. You'll help make sure every batch we ship is safe, consistent and compliant with our HACCP plan, SQF requirements and the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations. We're looking for someone detail-oriented and curious who wants to build a career in food safety.
What you'll do
- Perform in-process quality checks on the production line: noodle weight, thickness, moisture, pH, appearance and packaging integrity
- Monitor and verify Critical Control Points (CCPs) and prerequisite programs; record results accurately on HACCP and SQF forms
- Conduct pre-operational sanitation inspections and environmental monitoring swabs (e.g. ATP, Listeria spp. sampling)
- Collect finished-product and raw-material samples for internal and third-party lab testing, including shelf-life studies
- Inspect incoming ingredients and packaging against specifications; check Certificates of Analysis
- Verify label accuracy (allergens, lot codes, best-before dates) at line start-up and changeovers
- Calibrate and verify QA equipment (scales, thermometers, pH meters, metal detectors)
- Identify non-conforming product, place it on hold, and report deviations to the QA Supervisor
- Support GMP audits, internal audits, mock recalls and traceability exercises
- Help maintain QA records so they're complete, legible and audit-ready
What you bring
Required
- Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry or a related field — or currently completing one

- Good written and spoken English; able to follow written procedures (SOPs) exactly
- Able to stand for long periods, lift up to 20 kg, and work in a cold, wet and noisy production workplace
- Able to work rotating shifts between 7 am and 7 pm, including weekends when required
Nice to have
- Co-op or work experience in a food plant, lab or other GMP environment
- HACCP training certificate, FOODSAFE Level 1, or SQF Practitioner coursework
