Toronto

You love geometry, maths and code that runs close to the machine. Invent the CAD and toolpath systems behind next-generation hardware.

A young Toronto company combines manufacturing with software: it writes its own CAD and geometry tools and makes advanced parts for leading tech companies, including projects in aerospace, robotics and medical devices. Your first project: automatically matching and validating 3D CAD models against 2D drawings, a job someone still does by hand today. Next on the list: a geometry kernel of its own, a CAD environment built in-house, and the engine that plans CNC tool paths.

What you'll own

- A core subsystem, end to end, until you know it better than anyone
- Automated matching and validation of 3D models against 2D drawings
- Foundational systems built from first principles, not libraries glued together

- A small team covering software, firmware and mechanical engineering

Must-haves

- Strong maths and computational-geometry fundamentals
- You understand what happens close to the hardware (experience limited to web apps, without a strong maths base, won't fit)

- You like problems with no set stack and no detailed specification
- 2+ years of experience; technical depth matters more than pedigree, and no PhD is needed
- Working from the Toronto office five days a week, 9-9-5, commuting daily (no remote or hybrid)

- Already allowed to work in Canada; sponsorship isn't available

Bonus points

- Production code for geometry, CAD/CAM, graphics or tool paths
- A background in GPUs, chips, embedded systems, firmware or self-driving vehicles

- Results in maths olympiads, or research in geometry, graphics or robotics

What's in it for you

- $250k–$300k USD base + 0.1–1% equity
- Deep technical problems with real parts and real customers

- Full ownership of a subsystem in a small, ambitious team

Valuable to know

- Full-time, on-site in Toronto, 9-9-5 Process: half-hour call with both founders one-hour technical interview a take-home assignment only if needed up to a week of paid work at the office with the team- offer

When you apply, please include

- Your CV (PDF), your LinkedIn URL, and GitHub if you have one
- Geometry, CAD, graphics or low-level code you shipped, and what it computes

- Any maths competition or research background
- Your current location, and confirmation that daily on-site work in Toronto works for you
- Your work authorisation for Canada
- Your base salary expectation, your notice period, and any other interview processes you're in

Does this sound like you? Apply now. If you're a match, we'll be in touch within 3 working days. RnB Consultancy | Netherlands | 3604 AB Maarssen | KvK 71489703
