Responsible Adult – OBLT Childcare

Terms: Part-time to Full-time; Monday to Friday

Start Date: as soon as possible

Wage: Starting at $20.00 - $21.00 per hour, plus benefits available after successful completion of probationary period.

: Establishes positive working relationships with staff and families. Plans, coordinates and leads a quality licensed child care program.

Required Skills

- Patient, fun, kind, flexible and energetic
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Robust verbal and interpersonal skills
- Understands and acts in accordance with relevant policies and procedures from the Child Care Licensing Regulation and WorkSafeBC
- Maintains familiarity with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Basic First Aid Certificate

Education:

- High school graduation or equivalent




- Successful completion of a recognized Responsible Adult 20-hour course or equivalent (ECEA or ECE)

Experience:

- Minimum of 6 months’ experience working with children or youth

Preferred Skills & Experience:

- Familiarity with the Early Learning Framework
- Experience with supporting nature-based learning and early literacy

Additional Licensing Requirements:

- Two written character references
- Resume of work history, citing the work done with children
- Record of Certification: Responsible Adult
- Valid First Aid certificate
- Immunization Status
- Valid clear criminal records check
