Design distributed query engines and data workflows for Grafana’s cloud-native platform as a Senior Software Engineer focused on databases. Work remotely.

You will own parts of a database supporting OLAP analytics and freshly stored data through distributed execution. The position combines query engines, data formats, and reliable service boundaries for a multi-tenant SaaS foundation. It also supports retrieval through APIs, AI agents, MCP tools, CLIs, and internal applications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Build distributed query execution for analytics workloads
- Develop APIs enabling fast data retrieval workflows
- Design reliable multi-tenant database service boundaries
- Track usage, quotas, audit logs, and background jobs
- Balance experimentation with long-term production reliability

Requirements:

- Experience building distributed query engines
- Experience building data warehouses or data lakes
- Robust programming skills in Golang, C++, or Rust
- Experience delivering actively used production software
- Practical familiarity with AI technologies and frameworks
