Apply surgical nursing expertise and critical thinking at North York General’s Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, supporting patients and families.

This Registered Nurse position focuses on excellent patient- and family-driven care in a supportive, culturally sensitive setting. Work with an interdisciplinary team across assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and health restoration. The position also supports the Hospital’s academic mandate through teaching, learning, research, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate clinical competence in surgical nursing skills
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Set priorities and organize work around patient needs
- Assume leadership or charge responsibilities when required




- Contribute to continuous quality improvement and qualified learning

Requirements:

- Minimum two years current PACU/CCU experience
- Minimum two years current adult and paediatric surgical experience
- Certification in post-anaesthetic, emergency, or critical care
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Minimum one year procedural sedation experience preferred

Use surgical assessment, communication, and emergency response skills while advancing patient-centred care in post-anaesthetic nursing.
