Job Title: Senior QA Engineer (Manual + Automation)

About the Role

Grant Advance is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to act as the primary "Gatekeeper" of our platform. We are looking for more than just a tester; we need a partner for our Development Team and a safeguard for our Business Users.

In this role, you will own the quality process from end to end. You will be the first line of defense for incoming bugs and the final approval before features go live. Currently, our testing process is robust but manual; your long-term mission will be to maintain our high quality standards while driving the transition toward automated testing in our Azure environment.

What You Will Do

1. The Gatekeeper (Triage & Validation)

- Review, validate, and triage all incoming bug tickets from business users.
- Reproduce reported issues and gather all necessary logs, steps, and screenshots before they reach the developers.
- Reject invalid bugs or "user error" tickets to protect developer focus.

2. "Shift Left" Quality (Requirements & Planning)

- Participate in PI Planning and requirements review sessions.
- Scrutinize user stories and acceptance criteria for gaps, logic errors, or edge cases before development begins.
- Ensure that every feature has a clear definition of "Done."

3. Execution & Regression

- Perform functional testing on recent features to ensure they meet requirements perfectly.
- Execute our comprehensive regression suite (400+ test points) to ensure new code does not break existing functionality.
- Apply an "attacker mindset" to exploratory testing—trying to break the application in ways standard users (and developers) wouldn't expect.

4. The Future State (Automation)





- Identify the most critical repetitive tests in our regression spreadsheet.
- Architect and implement an automated testing framework within Azure DevOps.
- Gradually reduce the manual testing burden by increasing automated coverage.

What You Bring to the Table

- Experience: 5+ years of QA experience, with a mix of manual testing and automation implementation.
- Tech Stack: Strong familiarity with Azure DevOps (Boards, Test Plans, Pipelines) and the Azure cloud ecosystem.
- Communication: Exceptional English fluency (written and verbal). You must be able to articulate complex technical issues to developers and explain logic gaps to business stakeholders clearly and diplomatically.
- The Mindset: You have a high attention to detail and a natural curiosity to "break things." You don't just check if it works; you check what happens when it shouldn't.
- Automation: Experience writing scripts (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or C#) and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.

Success in the First 6 Months looks like:

- Month 1: You have mastered the manual regression spreadsheet and understand the intricacies of the Grant Advance platform. The developers trust your tickets immediately because they are thorough and validated.

- Month 6: You have selected a framework and automated the top 20% of the regression suite, beginning the shift away from purely manual testing.
